You will receive a letter of occupation confirming your room and payment option selection. 3. Upon receiving the letter of occupation, you or your parent/guardian must make the payment of the R1,500.00 administrative fee and R5,000.00 deposit.     3a. Only full-time or part-time students are accepted into 27Cluver. Are there pictures of the rooms? Pictures can be found on the “Gallery” tab in the menu above. How do I apply? Click the ‘Apply Now’ button in the top right and complete the application form and supply the supporting documents. Can I choose my room? You cannot choose the actual room but you are able to select the type of accommodation you prefer and the rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis and we will respect your preferences. Can I choose my roommate? Yes, include your friend’s name on your application form. You both have to apply for the same type of room and we will try to assist you with your preferences. Is there internet connectivity? There is uncapped Broadband Fibre WiFi throughout the building included in your contract which is subject to Fair Usage Policy and any excessive abuse will affect your specific connection speed. When can I move in and out? Your contract will specify exactly when you are able to move in and when you must vacate at the end of the year. Are the rooms serviced? Yes, there is a weekly Room and Building cleaning service as part of your Contract, which is subject to Fair Usage Policy and any abuse of the normal standards of Hygiene will result in added charges for your unit. What about laundry? There is a pay-as-you-go self-service laundromat on site. You can also have your laundry done for you at an additional cost. Please contact 27Cluver for prevailing costs. Do I pay for water? Your water is included in your total accommodation fee. However, students are encouraged to not waste these scarce resources and this is subject to Fair Usage Policy and any abuse of the normal standards of Water usage will result in added charges for your unit. Do I pay for electricity? Yes, each unit is fitted with a pre-paid electricity metre. Students are encouraged not to waste these scarce resources. What about maintenance issues? All maintenance issues are reported online using the 27Cluver Helpdesk. Our on-site maintenance team will respond as soon as possible and subject to the urgency. Are there house rules? Communal living requires that everyone respects each other’s rights. Yes, there is a Code of Conduct and it is an integral part of the SRA signed contract. It can be found in the “Downloads” tab in the main menu. Are we allowed visitors? 27Cluver is a secure environment and we need to protect that and respect the other people’s rights. There is a visitor protocol that must be followed and all visits are a privilege and not a right and must be approved in writing well in advance. It can be found in the “Downloads” tab in the main menu. Can I bring my bicycle? Yes definitely, 27Cluver and Stellenbosch in general are ideally suited for cycling. We also have lockable spaces for safe and secure on-site storage. Is there a safety and security protocol? Yes all Gates, Doors and Lift are Access Controlled by biometric access points and you will need to be loaded onto the Security System when you sign in to gain access. There are also regular fire drills. How far is the campus from 27Cluver? Faculties and departments are within walking distance from 27Cluver. Can I smoke in my room? No. You may not smoke at any part of the Premises, building, corridor or any communal areas of 27Cluver and the current smoking laws, fines  and penalties will apply. What do I do if someone parks in my parking bay? We will clamp the offender’s car and will only be released once the offender has paid a fine.
